Trey Gowdy Removes Name From Consideration For FBI Director Job

South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy is removing his name from consideration for the FBI director position.

In a statement, the Republican said he spoke with Attorney General Jeff Sessions over the weekend and told him that he wouldn't be the right person for the job. Gowdy says the right person for the job is someone with "impeccable credentials" who can united the country.

President Trump is searching for a new FBI director to replace fired director James Comey.
