AG Wilson Investigating Drug Manufacturers

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson is joining his peers from other states, investigating drug manufacturers and whether or not they're engaged in unlawful trade practices, marketing and selling opioids.

Authorities are trying to make a determination about the manufacturers creating or exacerbating the current opioid epidemic.

Almost 3300 people died from opioid overdoses from 2011-2015. No specific companies have been identified.

Wilson feels law enforcement, lawmakers, doctors, and patients must combine forces to fight opioid addiction.
