(Lexington, SC) -- The superintendent of the Lexington-Richland School District 5 is announcing his retirement plans.
Dr. Stephen Hefner read a statement during last night's board meeting, saying he would retire at the end of the school year. Dr. Hefner has served as the District 5 superintendent since January of 2011.
The school district says Dr. Hefner has helped school leaders secure federal Magnet School Assistance Program grants.
