Company Promises To Protect Exposed Nuclear Project Equipment

(Columbia, SC)  --  There's new hope that valuable nuclear reactor equipment won't be allowed to waste away.

Santee Cooper officials announced yesterday it will hire a company to preserve equipment left behind at the abandoned Fairfield County reactor site.  Santee Cooper is a minority partner of SCANA in two unfinished reactors.

Also, state regulators yesterday urged the Public Service Commission to invite SCANA to a hearing to explain their future plans for the sites.
