State Director Of Disabilities And Special Needs To Step Down

(Columbia, SC)  --  The woman who's headed South Carolina's Department of Disabilities and Special Needs is stepping down.

Beverly Buscemi announced Monday that she would be leaving her post on December 8th.  In a letter to staff, Buscemi said she felt it was time to move on to other opportunities outside the state, though she said she would continue to advocate on behalf of those with disabilities.

Buscemi has been the head of the agency for eight years.
