Irmo Voters Reject Chicken Ordinance

(Irmo, SC)  --  A growing trend won't be coming to Irmo.

Voters yesterday rejected a non-binding referendum that would have allowed people to raise chickens in their backyards.  Fifty-seven percent of voters rejected the measure, though the Town Council could still allow chicken raising to go forward.

Other parts of the state have allowed residents to raise chickens as more people want access to fresh organic eggs
