Flight Forced To Land After Fight Because Man Was Passing Gas

A Transavia Airlines flight from Dubai to Amsterdam Schiphol was forced to make an emergency landing after passengers got into a fist fight at 40,000 feet because one man refused to stop passing gas. According to Fox News, the pilot warned the individuals to calm down but was forced to divert the plane to Vienna Airport, where police removed four passengers from the flight.

A passenger uploaded a video to Twitter of police removing two men and two women once they landed.

Two of the women who were removed from the plane said they were not involved in the altercation, and just happened to be seated in the same row as the gassy passenger. They accused the plane crew of being "really provocative and stirred things up."

“We had no idea who these boys were, we just had the bad luck to be in the same row and we didn’t do anything. All I will say is that the crew were really provocative and stirred things up,” Lacchab said to De Telegraph.

The four passengers were released by police and not charged with any crimes. They have all been banned from flying on Transavia Airlines in the future.

The airline released the followings statement.

“Our crew must ensure a safe flight. When passengers pose risks, they immediately intervene. Our people are trained for that. They know very well where the boundaries are. Transavia is therefore square behind the cabin crew and the pilots.”
