(Columbia, SC) -- What started as a shoplifting incident now has a man dead.
A man was killed yesterday after a car he was in crashed during a high-speed chase with Richland County deputies.
It happened on I-20 near the Monticello Road exit when the pickup truck went off the road and hit a fence.
The driver was arrested after being taken to the hospital while another passenger was not hurt.
