State Senators Vote To Cut SCE&G Power Bills

(Columbia, SC)  --  A recent vote has a state lawmaker comparing his colleagues to Dr. Frankenstein.

The senate yesterday voted to cut SCE-and-G power bills by 13 percent, but Orangeburg Senator Brad Hutto says lawmakers are experimenting without even knowing what they're doing.

He says rates should be set by the Public Service Commission, and he's also worried Dominion Energy will withdraw its offer to buy SCE-and-G's parent company.

Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Shane Massey, who sponsored the bill, tells "The State" it's unlikely to become law.
