House May Approve Senate's 13% SCE&G Rate Cut

(Columbia, SC)  --  Lawmakers may soon find themselves in a showdown with the governor.

The House is considering approving a 13-percent SCE-and-G rate cut, just like the Senate did.  Governor Henry McMaster has threatened to veto anything less than an 18-percent cut, though.

The House previously voted for that higher rate cut, but some who did so now believe the senate won't agree to the 18-percent cut.

McMaster's spokesman yesterday told "The State" the governor hopes House members will fight for what they originally passed.
