Family Sues American Airlines Over Woman's Death

(Columbia, SC)  --  A South Carolina family is suing American Airlines over a woman's death.

The suit was filed last week in response to the death two years ago of Lexington 25-year-old Brittany Oswell.

On a flight from Hawaii to South Carolina, Oswell became sick, and the lawsuit claims a doctor on the plane repeatedly asked pilots to land at the closest airport.

The plane finally landed 90 minutes later in Texas, but by that point, Oswell was unconscious and she died in a hospital of an embolism.
