SCANA Appears Open To Suspending Dividends To Stockholders

(Columbia, SC)  --  SCANA appears to be willing to finally do something one lawmaker says it should have done a long time ago.

The utility revealed yesterday it may stop paying dividends to its stockholders in order to repay its customers for the failed nuclear project.

Lexington State Senator Nikki Setzler says this is the logical thing to do, and it should have been done way before now.

Some lawmakers are skeptical SCANA will go through with suspending dividends, though, and Edgefield Senator Shane Massey tells "The State" even if they do, it's too little, too late.
