Sheriff Complains Of Lenient Sentences

(Camden, SC)  --  A sheriff is blaming a judge for making his job harder.

Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews says judges like Alison Lee are too lenient with criminals.

Matthews' comments came after deputies this weekend arrested what he calls a frequent flyer who, last year, was given probation by Lee instead of prison time for gun charges.

State Rep. Todd Rutherford came to Lee's defense, though, and he tells WIS Matthews doesn't know what he's talking about.
