Clemson Alum Dwight Clark Dies Of ALS

Clemson, SC)  --  Clemson football is mourning the loss of a former Tiger and a member of the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame.

Former wide receiver Dwight Clark passed away yesterday in Montana at the age of 61 from ALS.  Clark played at Clemson in the mid to late '70s, and he later played for the 49ers in the NFL.

He's best known for what became known as 'The Catch' in the 1981 NFC Championship game.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney tells "The State" he grew up watching Clark, and he still has a souvenir Clark game him when he became head coach.
