(Columbia, SC) -- Advocates for solar energy aren't happy with a new budget deal.
Lawmakers yesterday reached a deal that would keep in place a cap on rooftop solar energy. After attempts to lift the cap this year failed.
House lawmakers proposed raising the cap temporarily, but that did not make it into the budget that goes before the General Assembly today.
Advocacy group VoteSolar says this puts thousands of jobs at risk and strengthens monopoly utilities.
