Former CPD Chief Charged With Drug Possession

Randy Scott, the former Columbia Police Chief has been jailed on a drug charge.

According to jail records, Scott was arrested and charged with possession of less than a gram of methamphetamine or cocaine base.

Scott resigned his position with CPD in 2013 citing PTSD as the reason for his departure.  He later joined the Richland County Sheriff’s Department leaving there in 2016.

The Sheriff's Dept. has schedule a press conference for later today.
