SCANA Execs Accused Of Planning Golden Parachutes

(Columbia, SC)  --  SCANA execs are accused of planning to give themselves what a lawyer for a state senator calls golden parachutes while billions were wasted on a failed nuclear project.

SEC filings revealed yesterday show the utility's top executives split over 100-million dollars in planned bonuses as part of SCANA's sale to Dominion Energy.

The State reports SCANA CFO Iris Griffin says the money was meant to compensate execs who will lose their jobs if the sale is approved by shareholders, who will meet today.
