Aretha Fans Recall Concert In Midlands

Twelve years later, fans still remember when Aretha Franklin came to the Midlands.

The singer, who passed away yesterday at the age of 76, performed in Columbia in 2006 at the last Three Rivers Music Festival.  Organizer Fred Monk tells ABC Columbia Franklin showed that night why she's deservedly called the Queen of Soul.

Preach Jacobs worked at the festival as a photographer, and he tells News 19 Franklin belongs on music's Mount Rushmore.
