Florence Approaches U.S. East Coast As Dangerous Major Hurricane

(Miami, FL) -- Hurricane Florence is moving closer to the East Coast as a Category 4 storm.

The National Hurricane Center says Florence is located about 530 miles southeast of Cape Fear, North Carolina.

It's moving west-northwest at 17 miles an hour with maximum sustained winds of 130 miles an hour.

Forecasters say Hurricane Florence will bring life-threatening storm surge and rainfall to portions of the Carolinas and the mid-Atlantic states.
