Conway Council Votes To Stop State Flood Relief Efforts

(Conway, SC) -- Efforts to stop flooding in the Grand Strand aren't sitting well with one city.

The National Guard and DOT yesterday were putting sandbags on a bridge over the Waccamaw River to maintain access to Horry County.

Conway city officials, though, voted yesterday to take legal means to stop that effort.

City officials believe the sandbagging will cause flooding that could affect almost a thousand homes in Conway.
