City Of Columbia Negotiating Redevelopment Of Finlay Park

(Columbia, SC) -- City leaders in Columbia are negotiating with a company that wants to redevelop Finlay Park.

The city council voted unanimously Tuesday to talk with U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte about the project. The company contacted the city council to express interest in the project. Finlay Park is considered a high-crime area.

Council members say revitalizing the park would encourage growth in other parts of downtown Columbia, and would fit with other revitalization projects around the city.
