Raw Sewage Spills For 12 Hours In Prison Cells

Video shows an ordeal state prison inmates describe as disgusting and dehumanizing.

The video taken 11 days ago shows raw sewage spilling on the floor of 12 cells and the common area at the Lieber Correctional Institution in Dorchester County.  The spill lasted for 12 hours, and during that time, inmates had to take their meals inside their cells while the floor was covered in feces.

Prison officials tell The State the incident happened after inmates tried flushing clothing down their toilets.
