Bill Filed Requiring Personal Finance Class For High Schoolers

(Columbia, SC) -- A lawmaker has an idea for making teenagers more financially literate.

Conway State Senator Luke Rankin is behind a bill that would require students to pass a personal finance class before graduating high school.

The bill was introduced in the senate last week and sent to the Education committee.

If it passes and is signed by the governor, it would take effect in the 2020-21 school year.
