USC Women's Hoops Falls To Mississippi State

(Starkville, MS) -- USC's best doesn't appear to be good enough when it comes to beating one of the country's best teams.

Number-six Mississippi State beat the number-20 Gamecocks, 89-74, last night in Starkville, Mississippi.

The loss was the first in conference play for USC, while the Bulldogs remain unbeaten in the conference.

Gamecock coach Dawn Staley said her team did its best, but it's clear more needs to be done before March.
