Columbia Housing Authority Sued After Apartment Deaths

(Columbia, SC) -- The Columbia Housing Authority is accused of denying tenants their basic rights.

A class action lawsuit was filed last week after two people died at Allen Benedict Court of carbon monoxide poisoning, and fire officials found unsafe living conditions.

Lawyers say the housing authority failed to provide safe living conditions, which is a fundamental responsibility.

The housing authority tells ABC Columbia it's bracing for more lawsuits to come.
