Anti-Gun Violence Rally Held At Statehouse

(Columbia, SC) -- Those looking to change gun laws are hopeful about a lawmaker's newest effort.

The Coalition Against Gun Violence held a rally at the statehouse yesterday on the anniversary of the deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

Richland State Rep. Wendy Brawley is behind a new bill that calls for SROs in every school and requires more thorough background checks for gun buyers.

One woman, who lost a son to gun violence, was at yesterday's rally, and she told ABC Columbia just the fact that there's a discussion about gun safety feels like winning the lottery.
