Park In Lexington To Get Upgrades

Virginia Hylton Park in Lexington is undergoing renovations that some say are long overdue. The project will more than double the size of it from six and a half acres to nearly 15 acres.

The town's oldest greenspace will be getting new pavilions, an all-inclusive playground, a small amphitheater and an area for teens.

Officials say it's been nearly three decades since the park has had any work done and it's time for a facelift. Officials say they aren't sure when the project will be complete, but construction will take place in bits and pieces.
