McMaster Responds To USC President Search Controversy

(Columbia, SC) -- The governor is fighting back against what he calls preposterous claims.

Governor Henry McMaster's office released a statement yesterday in response to criticism he received from a USC board member.

McMaster has called a meeting for Friday to vote on a new university president, but board member Charles Williams complained that McMaster's involvement politicized the search process.

McMaster says he did nothing improper, and he also says the meeting was actually called by the chairman of the board, not the governor.
