USC Trustee Announces Reversal On Caslen

(Columbia, SC) -- The governor's choice to be the next USC president is facing another roadblock.

USC Board of Trustees member Chuck Allen said three months ago that he would vote for Robert Caslen to lead the university, but yesterday, Allen announced he has changed his mind.

He says objections from alums, donors, faculty and the student body led to his reversal.

Governor Henry McMaster has publicly backed Caslen, who he says is supremely qualified and perfectly suited to address the university's challenges.
