(Orangeburg, SC) -- Orangeburg County's sheriff has a warning for residents.
Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said yesterday there's a phone scam going around.
He says residents are getting calls that they have an outstanding warrant, and if they don't pay over the phone, they'll be arrested.
Ravenell says that's not how warrants are handled, and it's not known if anyone has fallen victim.
