Voter Turnout High For South Carolina Primary

(Columbia, SC) -- Voter turnout for the South Carolina primary could be a record high.

The South Carolina Democratic Party said they counted over 80-thousand in absentee ballots alone. That's almost 30-thousand more than in the 2016 presidential primary.

The highest turnout for South Carolina was in 2008 when over 500-thousand total votes were cast, but this year's numbers could exceed that.
