Officials have announced the first South Carolina coronavirus related death in Lexington County. South Carolina DHEC reported that the patient was a resident of the Lexington Medical Center Extended Care Skilled Nursing Facility. Limited details on the patient have been released at this time but they were being cared for at the nursing home, living there full time.
DHEC Physician Consultant Dr. Brannon Traxler stated "“We regret to report that South Carolina has suffered its first death in an elderly person recently reported to have been diagnosed with COVID-19 who was a resident of Lexington Medical Center Extended Care Skilled Nursing Facility,”
