31,000 South Carolina Residents File For Unemployment Benefits

(Columbia, SC) -- Over 31-thousand South Carolina residents have filed for unemployment benefits. 

The state Department of Employment and Workforce says that's a 16-hundred percent increase from the previous week. 

The Department says they're experiencing record-level claims and record-level volumes and record-level calls. 

The most unemployment claims were in Horry County, followed by Charleston, Greenville, and Richland County.
