Coronavirus Surge Expected In South Carolina The Week Of April 26

(Columbia, SC) -- A surge of coronavirus cases is expected to hit South Carolina hospitals.

The Department of Health and Environmental Control expects as many as two-thousand new cases the week of April 26th. That's when they expect to see a peak in cases in the Palmetto State.

Health officials are working to ensure a second surge does not occur, and say rapid testing and social distancing are both key efforts to prevent that.
