Columbia Could Renew Restrictions As Governor Lets Businesses Reopen

(Columbia, SC) -- Columbia city leaders could renew restrictions amid the pandemic.

The City Council let the stay at home order expire on April 9th because Governor McMaster had enacted the Home or Work order for the state.

Now that the governor is allowing some businesses to reopen, the Council says they are watching data closely to see if they need to again make restrictions.

Mayor Benjamin says he wants to see businesses reopen, but he wants it to be done safely.
