Just Over 1 % Of State's Population Has Tested For COVID-19

(Columbia, SC) -- There are concerns about the amount of coronavirus testing in South Carolina.

As of yesterday afternoon, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control was reporting over 53-thousand tests have been given.

That's a little more than one percent of the state's over five-million people.

DHEC officials say about 38-thousand of the tests have been given at private labs and hospitals while over 14-thousand tests have been done in DHEC's public labs.
