South Carolina National Guard Being Deployed To Washington, D.C.

(Washington, DC) -- Soldiers from the South Carolina National Guard are heading to Washington D.C.

President Trump announced Monday that he would be dispatching military personnel to the country's capital amid protests and riots.

He requested support from the Palmetto State yesterday.

The deployment of nearly 500 soldiers comes after Governor McMaster had stationed the Guard in cities across the state.
