(Columbia, SC) -- There are nearly a thousand more coronavirus cases in South Carolina.
As part of a recent spike, the Department of Health and Environmental Control announced the 987 newly-confirmed cases of the virus yesterday.
Four more deaths were also reported. That brings the state's total to 21-thousand-533 cases and the death toll to 621.
