Solicitor: Use Of Force Justified In Columbia Officer-Involved Shooting

(Columbia, SC) -- A Columbia police officer is not being charged for the fatal shooting of a black teen in April.

The Fifth Judicial Court Solicitor determined yesterday that Officer Kevin Davis had reasonable belief that 17-year-old Joshua Ruffin posed an immediate threat.

The Solicitor ruled the use of force justified in the officer-involved shooting. He says bodycam footage shows Ruffin pointing a handgun at Davis before Davis fired several rounds.
