Graham Proposes Bill To Address Internet Access Issues In South Carolina

Lawmakers are working to address broadband internet access issues in South Carolina.

The Federal Communications Commission estimates 650-thousand people in South Carolina don't have high-speed internet right now, at a time when students may need to learn virtually and many are accessing telehealth services amid the pandemic. Senator Lindsey Graham introduced a bill yesterday called the Governor's Broadband Development Fund, which would give ten-billion dollars to areas in the U.S. that don't have service.

If passed,South Carolina would get around 170-million dollars from the program.
