(Sumter County, SC) -- A Sumter County school employee is accused of having a sexual encounter with a student.
Thirty-eight-year-old Joyce Brown is charged with sexual battery of a former student who was 16 or 17 years old.
Brown was a non-instructional employee at Lakewood High School when the alleged incident occurred in 2019.
Brown turned herself in yesterday but is out on a five-thousand-dollar bond.
