Low Number Of New Coronavirus Cases Due To Reporting Delay

(Columbia, SC) -- There is a low number of new coronavirus cases in the Palmetto state due to a temporary reporting delay.

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control announced just 197 newly confirmed cases yesterday.

That only included results reported to DHEC by email and fax, not electronic lab results.

The new cases bring the state's total to 143,623 since the pandemic began.

Twenty-one more deaths from COVID-19 happened between September 22nd and 28th.
