(Columbia, SC) -- New data from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division shows assault on law enforcement officers has increased.
In 2019, that crime increased by 20-percent. There were two assaults on officers in 2019 and 11 so far in 2020.
In Richland County, officials say there have been 99 assaults on officers this year compared to 67 in 2019.
