Supreme Court Declines To Hear SC Case About Planned Parenthood

(Washington, D.C.) -- The Supreme Court will not hear an appeal of a lower court's decision to allow Medicaid recipients to receive health care at Planned Parenthood in South Carolina.

Governor McMaster issued an executive order in 2017 that said abortion clinics could not receive any state or federal funds. He issued another order in 2018 specifically saying Medicaid funding could not go to clinics that offer abortions.

A Planned Parenthood patient sued the state and won.

Because the Supreme Court declined to hear the appeal, Medicaid can be used at Planned Parenthood across the Palmetto State.
