SLED Says FBI Did Not Tell Office About Threat Against Gov. McMaster

(Columbia, SC) -- South Carolina's Law Enforcement Division is releasing new information about an alleged plot to kidnap Governor McMaster.

SLED Chief Mark Keel told WIS-TV that the FBI did not tell his office about the threat.

Keel says they were also not told about one of the conspirators being arrested in Columbia this month.

The threat against Governor McMaster was tied to those made against Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
