Lexington Man Charged For Body Found In Barrel In Edgefield County

(Edgefield County, SC) -- A Lexington man is facing charges of destruction or removal of human remains. 

Jerry Ward Galloway has bonded out of jail after being arrested in connection to the death of Thomas Gainey in Edgefield County. 

Police say Galloway brought Gainey's body to a creek off Rachel Road in Ridge Spring and tried to submerge it in a plastic barrel using cement blocks. 

Gainey had been dead for up to 48 hours when his body was found, and a cause of death hasn't been determined.
