SC Supreme Court Rules Against Private School Grants

(Columbia, SC) -- Governor McMaster's plan to use federal coronavirus funds for private school grants is again being halted.

The South Carolina Supreme Court ruled unanimously that the plan violates the state's constitution.

McMaster was hoping to spend 32-million dollars in CARES Act funds to support private school education.

The highest court in the state determined that would be using public funds for the direct benefit of private educational institutions.
