(Columbia, SC) -- Hospital leaders in South Carolina are asking for permission to begin Phase 1B of the state's vaccination plan.
Specifically, CEOs of MUSC, Prisma health, Lexington Medical Center, and Tidelands Health want to start vaccinating people ages 75 and older.
Currently, the state is in Phase 1A, which focuses on vaccinating health care workers as well as nursing home residents and staff.
This week, Governor McMaster set a deadline of January 15th for those eligible to be vaccinated in Phase 1A to make their appointments.
