SCDNR Warns Of Contagious Disease Affecting Rabbits

(Columbia, SC) -- The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is warning of a rabbit disease. 

Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus-2 is highly contagious and can kill wild and domestic rabbits. Officials say people cannot get the disease, but can spread it. 

Residents are asked to report any dead rabbits they see to a conservation officer or if their pet rabbit gets sick or dies take it to a local veterinarian.
