Columbia Could Reconsider Face Mask Mandate After Governor's Remarks

(Columbia, SC) -- Columbia's face mask mandate could be reconsidered.

Governor McMaster called for all local governments to end face mask policies last week. Now, Columbia Councilman Howard Duvall says he thinks Columbia, Richland County, and Forest Acres need to coordinate to end mandates at the same time.

Richland County's mask ordinance is in effect until June 5th, and Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin says the city will keep following CDC guidelines.

However, he expects the city council to address the ordinance very soon.
